Peter Findlay

Peter is a multi-award-winning documentary filmmaker and producer with a commitment to social justice storytelling and a reputation for tackling complex subject matter.

After 10 years as a CBC-TV staff producer and director at The Fifth Estate and the National news hour, Findlay’s documentary work has since appeared on CTV, PBS, Discovery, History TV, TVO, ARTE-ZDF, and SBS Australia, among others. Credited with more than 70 hours of primetime documentaries shot around North America and the world in locations as diverse as Antarctica, the Himalayas and Los Angeles, Findlay is also an alumnus of Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism.

Following his award-winning 2020 documentary for CBC-TV’s POV – Company Town – which he directed, wrote and executive produced, Findlay’s most recent work has focused on Indigenous-themed documentary work in collaboration with Red Earth Blue Sky as part of his ongoing commitment to meaningful reconciliation.
